Not sure about the points deduction, i just thought crowd trouble results in hefty fines and a couple of behind closed doors matches. How bad was it then, or do Melbourne have a history of it? See you've signed Muscat anyway :-\

Frank Lampard won the football writers' player of the year award.

Wengerland 05-06-2005 12:34 PM

Dion and our reserve captain, who will be an Irish international in due course, have been offered new contracts

Nalis, Gillespie, Walker, Dabizas, Blake and Gemmill will be released.

Nalis is a sentimental thing, cause he wouldn't start, but i wanted him to stay. Gillespie's been great since Levein has taken over, won the fans' player of the season, so i'm not sure why he's gone either. I'm concerned we won't get a good enough replacement for Walks but he was on a big wage. The others i don't really care about, good riddance e.t.c

Ah I should clear some stuff up.

Melbourne (who signed Muscat) are in the national league.

The league South Melbourne and Preston are in is the Victorian state league.

Preston have a very bad history of violence whereas South Melbourne has been very good in recent years, they used to be bad in the early-mid 90s but it's toned down heaps in the last 10 years.

I can't see how we can be stripped of points if Olympiakos could appeal their 6 points deduction citing FIFA law and win. :?:

Cactus Sid 05-07-2005 06:40 AM

Usually I don't have a go at teams unless I have a damn good reason (unless its United or Harry Redknapp)

But Arsene Wenger can fuck off.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...al/4523051.stm

I've already explained that the bigger countries deserve more places, because it adds to the number of big clubs in the competition, and I'm sure he wont be complaining next season, if Liverpool have a blinder, United rebound and Chelsea are just as great, and his side finishes 4th.

Great that he completely contradicts himself as well, "Oh, England shouldn't have 4 places.....so its only fair that the 4th place side gets the Champions League place"

Fuck Off, if the side in 4th are "Lucky" to get the place, it SHOULD go to a side that wins the Champions League.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/4522235.stm

He can also fuck off, because the rules HAVE been changed, last season the rules were clear in favour of Arsenal, now they have been changed against Liverpool.

I mean, I have said (maybe not on here) that if we don't finish 4th, then we don't deserve the place, but things like this piss me off. He wouldn't be saying the same thing if Arsenal were in that position.

packt up 05-07-2005 06:59 AM

Everton Deserve to be in.

But so do Liverpool if (and its a big if) they win.

yianni 05-07-2005 08:30 AM

They'll win and those conspiracy theories will be true.

toxic rooster 05-07-2005 01:02 PM

2-2 between Palace and southampton, southampton equalised right at the end, crowd not knowing what the fuck to do. Norwich beat Birmingham, so both teams now have to win on the last day I'd say.

Crouch got sent off for elbowing Sorondo in the head, Sorondo got sent off too, apparently for letting his head get in the way of Crouch's elbow.

Now because Norwich won, West Brom has to get a result against Man U tonight to stay alive. Fucking juicy relegation battle, I love it :y:

Cactus Sid 05-07-2005 01:07 PM

Torquay relegated :(

My question to you guys is, can clubs/teams be docked points for crowd violence? I have heard from a few people that under FIFA law this is not allowed. Last year Olympiakos got a 6 point deduction yet appealed and won.

Does anyone know if South Melbourne (my club) can do the same?

I don't think FIFA really have a say in it. The national association makes the rules for its own competition.

Danny Electric 05-07-2005 01:37 PM

Arsene Wenger is a dick, i think that was established a long time ago.

Dazz 05-07-2005 08:54 PM

two new anti-Arsenal songs.

VIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEIRRAAAAAA, wooooooo-oooo-ah
VIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEIRRAAAAAA, wooooooo-oooo-ah
He swings from tree to tree,
He's a fucking chimp-an-zeeeeeeeeee
VIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEIRRAAAAAA, wooooooo-oooo-ah

The WengerBus is coming
And all the kids are running
Coz Arsene is the driver
he pays the kids a fiver.

In closing

I agree East Stand is so fucking crap. Lucky to be whee you are :(. Although singing The You'll never work again song to Murphy was fun as always :D

Considering the prices I saw today in the prog.. that's where i'll be next year.

The crusome foursome... http://img59.echo.cx/img59/5849/minip10105894dv.jpg (Just about)

Dazz 05-07-2005 09:24 PM

Your supposed to be 12 days older then me, you don't look it. My Chelsea flag with Champions on it is at home, might take a pic of it on Monday, it's pretty damn cool.

Matthew Harding Upper is great, but the atmosphere is much better in the lower, just the view is worse. Ruth Harding sits about 6 seats from me.

Those Murphy songs got boring for me, as I was singing them loads on Tuesday night.

can't wait to go to Old Trafford on Tuesday, gunna properly piss off the Mancs.

Singing celery to the players wives was gold.

Wish this came out better...

Last day of the Championship season with automatic promotion, play-off places and relegation not settled. BRILLIANT

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 09:21 AM

Every game starts at the same time on the last day, doesn't it

Not that you look that old yourself, but I do have a fresh face. Especially when i'm clean shaven and i'm wearing a hat ^_^.

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 09:29 AM

Pretty piss poor, last day of the season, your side is on the brink of promotion....and no one turns up.

Some great footy fans in Wigan.

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 09:32 AM

They're all rugby league fans in Wigan, aren't they though?

yianni 05-08-2005 10:04 AM

Fuck I feel sorry for the poor cunt who has to clean up that mess on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.

Regardless, congrats to Chelsea.

As Gooner said some juicy relegation games next week. How the fuck West Brom held on at Old Trafford I don't know. :y:

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:15 AM

It was never a penalty for West Brom :$. Regardless, they had more to play for and were fucking lucky Manchester couldn't find a winner.

Game on

I know I don't, but you look younger

Mr. Monday Morning 05-08-2005 10:32 AM

4-2 up, never mind Warnock  FUCK, if our defence wasn't so shocking we would've stormed the Championship this year  Next time, I tell you *shakes fist*

Looks like Wigan are up, Ipswich, Derby and West Ham in the playoffs with Preston, Crewe going down as Gillingham are winning

COME ON PALACE :'( I guess I wouldn't mind Norwich staying up either but their fans are utter prats.

You watch next year if Wigan go up, the JJB will be full, same sort of thing with Barnsley really, people will turn up for the Premiership then disappear soon as they're relegated.

Graeme Le Saux is an utter wanker.

Mantle, you're getting chubby.

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:42 AM

Wouldn't that send Brighton down though?

Dazz 05-08-2005 10:43 AM

I wish Wigan didn't go up, they don't sound like a Premiership team

Le Saux is the man, best left back we've had, I don't include Gallas he isn't a real left back.

How dare you, ECG and AAA say the same thing .

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:44 AM

Oh wait, they're drawing.

Gillingham's down

Mr. Monday Morning 05-08-2005 10:54 AM

Yes but I'm assuming you didn't watch MotD yesterday cause you were drunk or something, Le Saux acted like the huge homo he is and got Sorondo sent off for rightly twatting him.

And yeah looks like Gillingham is down. Fucking McGhee stays up

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:56 AM

That was Crouch, Adam.

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:56 AM

And I don't think Sorondo actually touched him :$

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 11:00 AM

Wigan are bad for the Premiership.....as are Sunderland, as are anyone whose grounds are practically empty most of the time (Blackburn)

Glad Brighton and Crewe have stayed up, got a soft spot for Brighton's situation and obviously Crewe are our feeder club, so pretty good.

Not really sure who I want to go up via the Playoffs, West Ham would probably be the best for the Premiership.

Shut up, you don't know what you're talking about. Crouch swing a leg at Sorondo and they squared up, but after that when they were seperated Le Saux ran up to Sorondo to try and start shit and got twatted.

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 11:10 AM

I watched like 3 replays and didn't see that

It was definetly Le Saux who got Sorondo sent off

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 11:18 AM

Really, what'd he do? I must plead ignorance on this one, I thought none of the officials saw what happened and decided to send them both off for starting the handbags.

No I didn't, was on the train home at the time, What did he do?

Wengerland 05-08-2005 11:21 AM

Yeah, Sorondo lashed out at Le Saux, stupid thing to do but a sending off all the same.

Unlucky Gillingham :( Same thing that kept them up and sent Walsall down last season.
