The Destroyer 07-17-2013 06:07 PM

Post-credits scene in The Wolverine is apparently going to link into Days of Future Past.

Oh and Dinklage is definitely playing Bolivar Trask.

Skippord 07-17-2013 06:28 PM

When they showed the shot of Electro, I was expecting him to say something along the lines of "There's a Frrrreeeeezzzze coming over Gotham City"

Sixx 07-18-2013 08:16 PM

Ummm, is Jamie Foxx playing a white guy here?

Miotch 07-18-2013 08:24 PM

No.

Lock Jaw 07-18-2013 09:06 PM

He is playing a blue guy

parkmania 07-18-2013 09:35 PM

Say hello to the blue guy!

Watching Captain America. Mad underrated film. Only flaw is that the conflict between cap and skull doesn't feel personal enough.

Skippord 07-19-2013 02:18 AM

Captain America is my favorite of the Marvel movies

Fignuts 07-19-2013 02:56 AM

I'd have to go with Thor, but I'm biased in a lot of ways toward that movie.

Skippord 07-19-2013 05:16 AM

Thor is pretty great. Captain America was my favorite comic book character growing up so I'm a bit biased towards him.

McLegend 07-19-2013 05:17 AM

It's funny because the movie is over 2 hours long, but it still doesn't feel long enough. I would have liked more battle scenes. Not talking about just squarely action, but wanted to see more of Captain America's leadership and strategy like in New York in the Avengers. It's def glanced at in books he reads, news reels and war rooms. Still could have used more.

I'm not a fan of the WWII montage either. I feel like.

The Avengers and Iron Man are the two best movies. You can put the rest in almost any order.

Thor is my least favorite of the "Marvel" films- just have a hard time getting into the whole macho fantasy/LOTR/Game of Thrones vibe.

DaveBrawl 07-20-2013 12:15 AM

Does Ang Lee's Hulk count as part of phase 1? If so that would have to be my least favorite. After that I'd say it's a tossup between the last 2 Iron Man movies or Edward Norton's Hulk, although I'd have to watch that again as I don't really remember it.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 02:47 AM

No.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 04:35 AM

Peggy Carter's short was screened at SDCC and it's sounding really cool, and it seems she may have a future in the MCU in some capacity. The One-Shot drops with the Iron Man 3 DVD.

McLegend 07-20-2013 10:11 AM

Word is that it is going to be announced at the end of this month that Vin Diesel will have a role in an up upcoming marvel movie.

This is coming from Vin Diesel himself.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 02:00 PM

Seems he has Vision, too.

Skippord 07-20-2013 10:34 PM

Booo

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 11:02 PM

Disney/Marvel's panel is pretty much the hypest thing at SDCC. Hiddleson appeared as Loki and got the audience to become his army. Andrew appeared as Spidey as well in Sony's Spidey panel. Videos are out and about the internets so good luck finding them.

Speaking of Spidey, about time the Amazing Spider-Man 2 thread gets made. Any takers? Just include full title and date. The Electro teaser should be in the OP (centered but it's up to you).

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 11:14 PM

Fignuts is going to flip the fucking fuck out about Phase 2's big finale. Unless I'm reading it wrong, but if I got it right holy fuck. Whedon is going there already.

Skippord 07-20-2013 11:14 PM

Someone get on an Avengers: Age of Ultron thread too

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 11:41 PM

New threads are done. The thread link-chain for all the Phase 2 movies have been updated as well (Edit: MCU Phase Two threads are completed and linked together).

Wolverine: Origin 2

http://i.newsarama.com/images/i/000/...jpg?1374337644

Takes place after the first book. Nathaniel Essex is the villain.

Shadow 07-23-2013 08:32 PM

Great with all the bullshit that is Wolverine's origin, let's add Mr. Sinister to the mix.

Fignuts 07-24-2013 02:24 AM

Still think having dog and sabertooth as seperate characters was dumb. Will wait to read origin 2 to judge, but sinister seems a strange choice considering that he has never shown any interest in wolvie. Summers bloodline has always been his obsession.

Skippord 07-24-2013 02:32 AM

Maybe he's decided that wasn't working so he may as well move on

Mr. Sinister is my favorite X-Men villain so I like this idea

Kalyx triaD 07-24-2013 02:48 AM

Actually...

SPOILER: show
They may explain that meeting Logan is what made him interested in mutants.

Fignuts 07-24-2013 03:21 AM

Sinister is lame anyway. What'd be ever actually accomplish? Killing morlocks? Well done.

Skippord 07-24-2013 03:40 AM

You shut your whore mouth Sinister is metal as fuck

Fignuts 07-24-2013 05:33 AM

What's with that cape? Did it get caught in a paper shredder?

Skippord 07-24-2013 05:57 AM

It's stylish. Mr. Sinister knows more about fashion than he does about cloning. And he knows a fucking ton about cloning.

umm isnt apocalypse turning him into sinister what makes him interested in mutants?

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2013 04:06 PM

I dunno.

Reavant 07-25-2013 04:23 PM

eh sort of.... his origin has just enough of an opening to use your idea but this is his origin:

Quote:

Nathaniel Essex was born in Victorian England during the 19th Century. He was obsessed with Charles Darwin's theory on evolution. He truly began his work in 1859 when he learned that humanity was steadily becoming mutant, thanks to what he classified as Essex factors. His work intensified when his four-year-old son died of various birth defects. He formed the Marauders when he couldn’t get backing for his research. This team kidnapped people from the streets to act as test subjects on mutation. Essex even exhumed his son as a test subject.

The Marauders accidently stumble upon Apocalypse and awake him from his slumber. He sees potential in Essex and grants him mutations that give him longer life, advanced strength, and a healing factor. Essex took on the name Sinister, an adjective his dying wife used to describe the man he was becoming.

Reavant 07-25-2013 04:24 PM

Wolverine was born in 1880 so that was 20 years after sinister started his work

McLegend 07-25-2013 10:16 PM

I have a question.

It seems too me like in any Media(tv, movies, and comic books) Wolverine gets the shit kicked out of him all the time. It seems he gets beat way more then just about any other "Super hero."

So is it just me or is true?

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2013 10:45 PM

Well like Superman after the badassery of promotional material is pushed aside (covers, posters), writers actually counter balance their abilities by usually having them exceptionally outclassed in some way. Compare this to Batman or Iron Man who's whole deal is being prepared or adapting quickly to win. They may falter but we never Bruce or Tony get wrecked like Clark or Logan.
