The Perks Of Being A Wallflower 7/10

ClockShot 09-10-2013 05:05 PM

Riddick - 1.5/5

Bad editing and a rehashed story killed this.

Corporate CockSnogger 09-10-2013 06:07 PM

But what about Starbuck boob? :(

ClockShot 09-10-2013 06:13 PM

I'm better off watching her in Longmire or repeats of Battlestar Galactica.

GD 09-11-2013 09:12 PM

Paul - 7/10

I don't know why I did not watch it before. I enjoyed it a lot.

mitch_h 09-13-2013 06:56 PM

Stranger by the Lake - Cool, stripped down french thriller about this homosexual guy who goes to this lake where gay guys "cruise". He witnesses this other good looking gay guy kill someone but doesn't say anything. I liked the atmosphere, but this probably featured the most graphic gay sex I have ever seen, including a close up shot of a dick being jerked off and ejaculating everywhere. Still a good movie and a subtle commentary on the dangers of desire and sex, I guess. 8/10

The Thing(2011)- 7/10

The original is my fav horror movie of all time, so already this movie had a a lot to live up to. It does a pretty good job. The CG effects were better than I thought they'd be, but they still don't compare to the original.

It's still good, but without Keith David and the Rus' memorable characters, and Carpenters classic cinematography, it's not quite as good. It also doesn't add anything to the story besides detailing what happened to the swedes. Was hoping that as a prequel, we'd learn more about the creature itself. Though I understand that the lack of intel on it adds to the scariness.

As a fan, I still really enjoyed it, and I rev omens it to fans of the original.

Fignuts 09-14-2013 03:39 AM

Go fuck yourself auto correct.

Admit it: you touched yourself during the gay sex.

I didn't have to. 75% of the people at this screening were gay.

whiteyford 09-16-2013 10:25 AM

Platoon: 8.1/10

Corporate CockSnogger 09-19-2013 12:21 PM

Oz the Great and Powerful - Alright. Really camp and cheesy. Enjoyable in some parts but a bit flat overall. Thought the whole Theodora turning into the wicked witch scene should've been such a huge deal, but the character was pretty underdeveloped for it to have any impact. Still not a terrible film though, but nothing special either.

This is The End - 8/10

Pretty enjoyable and funny. "Laughed out loud" at one point in the movie, which I usually do not do.

Raven Reaper 09-21-2013 01:18 AM

Riddick - 7/10.

Iron man 3 4.5/10

Pretty disappointing really with some redeeming action sequences. Unbelievable in the thought that not even captain America came to lend a hand. They built the universe they should at least make it realistic enough.

The Condor 09-21-2013 01:54 PM

Knowing: 6.6/10

Not bad.

GD 09-25-2013 12:54 AM

Elysium - 7/10

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Felt like they did an awesome job as far as the VFX are concerned. The dude from District 9 and A-Team was bad ass. Couldn't help but think of Tazz Dan during the screening.

The Iceman - MichaelShannonIsStillTheFuckingMan out of ten

Corporate CockSnogger 09-25-2013 11:15 AM

Moneyball - pretty sweet. No clue about baseball but that didn't really matter, really enjoyed the film. Should've just had John Henry play himself though, nobody can match his coolness

Yes Man - Mostly shite. The book its based on is a million times better. Have you read the book? You should read the book.

XL 10-03-2013 12:27 PM

I second that you should read the book. I literally laughed out loud on probably a dozen occasions.

whiteyford 10-03-2013 02:23 PM

Iggy can't read though, he's been faking it on the forum for years.

road doggy dogg 10-03-2013 03:06 PM

Got in a lot of movie watching on my flights to/from London.

42 - 7/10 (I liked it but it didn't really seem like there was ever much of a conflict in the movie; yeah the racism etc but I never really "feared" that anything was going to happen to Jackie through the movie)
The Internship - 9/10 (love Vince Vaughn so hard)
Hangover 3 - 4/10 (had a couple laughs but overall same old story)
Silver Linings Playbook - 9/10 (E-A-G-L-E-S)
Iron Man 3 - 7/10 (it was good, liked #1 the best still)

Taking a lot not to rip you apart right now.

May I ask why? 2 or 3 posts above mine was another grand review of money ball....what did I say to set me apart?

Sandra Bullock channels Isaac Clarke and Ripley's persona minus aliens after all that bus driving over 50 mph for a bomb, beauty pageant plus, hacking computers really put to good use in this movie. The only enemies are space station debris and dealing with dead cosmonauts. It was Veritcal Limit, Speed, Apollo 13, and Dead Space feel to it..

It's about time she deserves a break from the crapola buddy cop comedy shit.

8/10.

ClockShot 10-04-2013 03:09 PM

Gravity - 5/5

Alfonso Cuaron, you sir are one helluva visionary. I bow to you.

mitch_h 10-06-2013 03:08 PM

Now You See Me - Dumb movie that people kept recommending to me. It was okay at first but then it switched perspectives to the pursuers and it got awful. The twist reveal was really stupid (Woody Harrelson driving a bus) and then there were non ironic ideas about magician guilds throughout history and I just wanted to die. This seems like a movie that dumb people would find "clever".

Prisoners - This was pretty good, kind of reminded me of that movie The Ghostwriter where a paper back thriller is elevated by really good direction/cinematography. I was hoping this would go in a Zodiac like direction but all of the movies ideas are kind of thrown out in favor of plot. Good movie though and I really liked Jake Gyllenhaal.

Leviathan - Cool experimental documentary where the filmmakers just put cameras all over a commercial fishing boat. Interesting and original aesthetic that makes something pretty ordinary look like science fiction.

9/10.

25 yrs and he's still scaring the shit out of kids... The heroine is actually Chucky's daughter in real life considering Brad is the voiceover of him and they share the same last name.. Would've been a nicer twisted ending where father and daughter are now partners in crime ... Woman in a wheelchair gone insane under the influence of Chucky. And that backstory origin of Chucky as a serial killer befriending the heroine's family was a bit contrived but still, I liked it better when he was just some unknown stranger killer that has no history except he likes voodoo stuff and strangling people.. It was a better movie than the last one although Jennifer Tilly's cameo was a bit of self parody. Oh well, Chucky's still got it and we're still friends to the end.

My only gripe with The Curse of Chucky movie is
SPOILER: show
when he played Hide the Soul with the little girl, how come we never get to see his spirit transfer over her body?
What gives? Oh well, dolls live longer than humans I guess.

Extra ending after end credits btw will probably open up a sequel for it.
