This is why I download and read the books every week from torrent sites. If I like a story, I'll buy the trade. Storing single issues of comics is a chore, but trades fit nicely on the bookshelf. Also, by downloading the weekly DCP and Minuteman scans, I can read everything that comes out, and discover new titles and story arcs to buy, that I never would have come across if I only read what I bought. Also, yeah, Fear Itself was crap. SPOILER: show Uncanny X-Force(including the original book with x-23, warpath, and archangel) has been the most consistently good book the last few years. Even the artwork has never slipped once. Feel like the Avengers, New Avengers, and Secret Avengers have been pretty good so far. Of all the Avengers titles, Academy is definitely the best, so if you haven't checked that out yet, give it a look. Future Foundation is giving X-Force a run for it's money. Haven't read the more recent issues yet, but the first two were really good. |
Is X-Factor still really good? I remember a few years back that it was easily the best X-Title.
Dunno, haven't read it since Madrox and Layla were sent into the future.

NICE
What movie is that from?
Also, check this out!

Needs lab coat.

Don't know how I feel about it yet.
Since I was a kid, Lizard has always been one of my fav Spidey villains. Have the Todd McFarlarne look fresh inside my head. We will see. |
Apparently that is an "early concept" and that the final one "looks bigger".
That looks more like Scorpion to me than The Lizard :wtf:
really hating the visual direction they are going with so far. Have zero interest in the movie.
This looks shit.
Obviously I'll await final judgment until I've seen the movie, but if that's the Lizard, I'm not too excited about it. Besides generally looking shit, he looks much too human.
Never imagined I'd not be interested in a Spider-Man movie...
Perhaps he will start out like that and slowly evolve into the Lizard that we love? just hopeful thinking..bah..:|
"The Untold Story". Yeah because we've never heard Spidey's origins before. Dig the image though.
Before he was slinging web, he was slinging cock.

I dig that shot of Spidey. Though I'm hoping that him defacing the Daily Bugle sign with his symbol is just a promotional thing, and isn't actually part of the movie.

Green Goblin make-up/animatronics test for the first spidey movie:

Why is Spiderman being mean to Thor?
Thor is clearly down on his luck and strung out on meth in that scene
That Ghost Rider trailer looks pretty sick. I'm one of the few that didn't mind the first one. It wasn't amazingly brilliant or anything, but it was a good, enjoyable, watchable movie. Hopefully this one'll be a bit edgier, so that the character can really let loose a little.
Still, it's coming out in the same year as The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and Spectacular Spider-Man, so it's pretty much doomed from the start. |
That Goblin makeup looks insane. It's a shame they didn't use that instead of the Power Ranger mask we wound up with.

Coming soon to a Toys R' Us near you!
Too late for that.
Got Thor's Hammer for Xmas btw. Pretty cool. |

So, what do you do with it, Kalyx?
It's that one. And... I throw it at people. They have to throw it back though, when I yell "Hammer!" And nobody picks it up but me.
That actually started the Nerf Wars. |
.....so did Marvel just get rid of all of their villains? Because it feels like every other major event they do is the heroes fighting each other.
Artwork doesn't enthuse me very much. Should have just extended the battle in Children's Crusade.
What's with the Juggernaut/Collossus hybrid? And is Magneto an X-Man now?
Peter's been using Juggy's crystal for a while now. Mag is on the good guy end of the cycle now.

This is all being started off with the current return of cable and his fight with the avengers right now. |
Quote:
But why does he still need the helmet though? Seriously? :o |
I guess because it makes him stronger and whatnot. I mean, why give up something that makes you more badass than you already are?
Nobody asked for Avengers vs X-Men, Marvel. Nobody.
I think it's alright.

AvX looks pretty interesting based on how they are setting up the story with avengers x-sanction... cable is attacking the avengers because they are apparently responsible for the death of hope.
usually like kubert's art but wtf is going on with cyclops' hands?
especially his right (our left). that is bush league. |
and the proportion on thor lol. LOOK AT IT. that is some liefeld shit right there.

Rob Liefeld with some interesting comments re: the upcoming Deadpool movie.

Seems like a strange way to prep a movie, I'd expect that for a TV pilot.
The important question is; is this test footage online anywhere?!
If it exists, I'm sure there's a furious search going on right now. Then again, the Wonder Woman pilot is harder to find than you think, and this is something we didn't even hear about until now.
What is that supposed to be?
It was rumored that in the 70's they wanted to do a black Widow and Daredevil show.
They got that far..just taking a few photos..thank god. |
Ghost Rider looks pretty fucking sick, tbh.
Yeah, I've been liking the clips.
That pose he's in looks like he's, like, a late night talk show host, introducing the hill behind him as tonight's musical guest.
On a side note, I would totally watch a late night talk show starring Ghost Rider all taking place on a truck driving down the highway. |

Good, though I suppose this means X4 will wait a while longer - short of a reboot.
I still hate the choice of Nicholas Cage for Johnny Blaze, but the new Ghost Rider does look pretty awesome
love the directors |
New role in the next XMen. Micheal Fassbender will play Magneto and his mutant cock will play the role of Mutant Cock.
Hmm...

I like the tone Garfield is playing Parker with. And I like how much they seem to be going with his science nerd side.
That said, not a fan of the Lizard design. He needs a snout. |
Fuck the snout, he needs a lab coat.
I am also enjoying Andrew's Peter. He seems like the wise-ass Spidey always was and I was always attached to his frail frame, which I always associated with Spidey's image compared to other superheroes. I'll get over the web-shooters. Definitely a different taste from Raimi's work, and it'll be interesting to see if this trilogy will produce anything as epic as Spider-Man 2, so I'm eager to see this. |
Yeah, biggest complaint with the first trilogy is that Spider-man doesn't wise crack enough. He's supposed to be nearly on the same level as Deadpool in that regard. Hopefully the car thief scene isn't the only example of this.
Becoming a little more open to this, even though I still think the costume change isn't very good. That said, it has some big shoes to fill in my eyes. Despite it's flaws, Raimi's movies captured the feel and atmosphere of Romita Sr.'s run perfectly. Also, The Dr. Octopus clock tower/train fight is my favorite fight scene in a movie. |
Spider-Man 2 is almost perfect in my eyes.
Though the universe is doing everything in it's power to stop The Wolverine from being made, he's still the best at what he does - slicing people up in the summer: The Wolverine's official release date is July 26, 2013.
Oh wtf we have to wait another year and a half? :foc:
So long as we have a date. I was afraid it was gonna get canned altogether.

Read the 'Dark Phoenix Saga' again for the first time in years and almost started crying. I'm hopeless. :(
Why?
Because it's really fucking good? And kinda sad.
Chris Claremont's return to the series was even sadder. So terrible. I digged some of the costumes though.
So the first trailer for Ultimate Spider-Man is up:
http://marvel.com/videos/watch/2228/...-man_trailer_1 Honestly......meh. I mean, the animation is quite nice (as it should be for the Man of Action team), but I really don't like the whole concept of doing it all as a team-up show. If they're shoving Spider-Bikes and the Iron Spider suit and all these other cameos and gimmicky shit into the series, then there's not going to be any time to develop anything with Spider-Man's rogues gallery (the second-best in all of comics, second only to Batman) or his supporting cast (flat-out the best in all of comics). That, and a lot of the jokes in the trailer kind of fall flat to me, like they're trying too hard to make it 'wacky.' And Spidey really isn't all that wacky; he's just a smartass that never shuts up. I want it to be good, and it looks nice and flashy, but I can't watch the trailer and not think "This is what they cancelled Spectacular Spider-Man for?" |
