Might even stop following Avengers/New Avengers after the whole Dark Avengers Return arc just to buy less over priced comics.

This is why I download and read the books every week from torrent sites. If I like a story, I'll buy the trade. Storing single issues of comics is a chore, but trades fit nicely on the bookshelf.

Also, by downloading the weekly DCP and Minuteman scans, I can read everything that comes out, and discover new titles and story arcs to buy, that I never would have come across if I only read what I bought.

Also, yeah, Fear Itself was crap.
SPOILER: show
Don't know what the fuck they were thinking, killing Bucky. There goes hundreds of fresh potential stories, down the toilet just for a cheap shock moment. Bullshit.

Uncanny X-Force(including the original book with x-23, warpath, and archangel) has been the most consistently good book the last few years. Even the artwork has never slipped once.

Feel like the Avengers, New Avengers, and Secret Avengers have been pretty good so far. Of all the Avengers titles, Academy is definitely the best, so if you haven't checked that out yet, give it a look.

Future Foundation is giving X-Force a run for it's money. Haven't read the more recent issues yet, but the first two were really good.

Lock Jaw 10-23-2011 04:14 PM

Is X-Factor still really good? I remember a few years back that it was easily the best X-Title.

Captain of Fun 10-23-2011 05:07 PM

Dunno, haven't read it since Madrox and Layla were sent into the future.

Rammsteinmad 12-01-2011 02:04 PM

Obviously I'll await final judgment until I've seen the movie, but if that's the Lizard, I'm not too excited about it. Besides generally looking shit, he looks much too human.

Never imagined I'd not be interested in a Spider-Man movie...

LuigiD 12-01-2011 02:08 PM

Rammsteinmad 12-18-2011 12:04 PM

That Ghost Rider trailer looks pretty sick. I'm one of the few that didn't mind the first one. It wasn't amazingly brilliant or anything, but it was a good, enjoyable, watchable movie. Hopefully this one'll be a bit edgier, so that the character can really let loose a little.

Still, it's coming out in the same year as The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and Spectacular Spider-Man, so it's pretty much doomed from the start.

Nowhere Man 12-18-2011 12:23 PM

That Goblin makeup looks insane. It's a shame they didn't use that instead of the Power Ranger mask we wound up with.

during the "fear itself" storyline, the normal juggernaut was possessed by the god of fear. This made him even more powerful than before and there was nothing the xmen could do to stop him. so they sent colossus, his sister and kitty pryde to the crimson cosmos to talk to the demon cyttorak which is the being that possesses the juggernaut with his powers normally. He was pissed that the juggernaut was working with another god so he offered the power to one of them. The original plan was for colossus' sister to take it but he jumped in the way not wanting his sister to suffer more and he became the juggernaut and beat down the real juggernaut on his return to earth.

Thanks for the summary. I'm a bit behind with my comics, especially compared to America. I'm sure this is a good read, but in a synopsis it kinda sounds dumb and makes me kinda ' lol comic books'...

But why does he still need the helmet though? Seriously? :o

Nowhere Man 01-07-2012 10:55 PM

I guess because it makes him stronger and whatnot. I mean, why give up something that makes you more badass than you already are?

its apart of the juggernaut costume when he activates its powers. He tries to fight as long as possible without using its powers because it is a thing of evil but when things arent going well, he uses the power

Reavant 01-09-2012 01:53 AM

AvX looks pretty interesting based on how they are setting up the story with avengers x-sanction... cable is attacking the avengers because they are apparently responsible for the death of hope.

Rob Liefeld with some interesting comments re: the upcoming Deadpool movie.

Quote:

"They've got a great director on the movie, they've got a great script. I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that's Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you've got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated.

They may or may not have wanted to shoot eight minutes to see how it would play. And all I can tell you, it's close. It’s closer that it's even been to going, or going Naaah, that's too scary a proposition to make a R Rated Deadpool movie.”

Kalyx triaD 01-13-2012 09:30 PM

Seems like a strange way to prep a movie, I'd expect that for a TV pilot.

Rammsteinmad 01-14-2012 10:06 PM

Kalyx triaD 01-14-2012 10:46 PM

Director Matthew Vaughn is returning for an X-Men: First Class sequel, Deadline reported Monday.
The news was tucked into a post on Fox production president Emma Watts sticking with the studio through 2015, along with word that Bryan Singer is returning as producer, and that Simon Kinberg — a First Class producer and co-writer of X-Men: The Last Stand — will write the screenplay.

That said, not a fan of the Lizard design. He needs a snout.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 05:31 AM

Fuck the snout, he needs a lab coat.

I am also enjoying Andrew's Peter. He seems like the wise-ass Spidey always was and I was always attached to his frail frame, which I always associated with Spidey's image compared to other superheroes. I'll get over the web-shooters.

Definitely a different taste from Raimi's work, and it'll be interesting to see if this trilogy will produce anything as epic as Spider-Man 2, so I'm eager to see this.

Captain of Fun 02-07-2012 01:13 PM

Yeah, biggest complaint with the first trilogy is that Spider-man doesn't wise crack enough. He's supposed to be nearly on the same level as Deadpool in that regard. Hopefully the car thief scene isn't the only example of this.

Becoming a little more open to this, even though I still think the costume change isn't very good. That said, it has some big shoes to fill in my eyes. Despite it's flaws, Raimi's movies captured the feel and atmosphere of Romita Sr.'s run perfectly. Also, The Dr. Octopus clock tower/train fight is my favorite fight scene in a movie.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 06:53 PM

Spider-Man 2 is almost perfect in my eyes.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2012 09:05 PM

Captain America, best known for being the illegitimate lovechild of Captain Planet and Lady Liberty, likes to get around on a motorcycle. Unfortunately, the shield and helmet aren't for sale so you'll have to make your own out of a garbage can lid and watermelon.

One of the most unique leather uniforms created for the screen can now be yours. Every feature as seen on film in Captain America: The First Avenger has been replicated in form-molded leather from the classic color-scheme to the aluminum accent emblems on the back, arms and forever iconic silver star emblazoned on our hero's chest. Perfectly crafted gloves, boots, functional belt and detailed rigging complete this iconic battle-uniform that captures the retro 1940s Captian America: The First Avenger design.

So the first trailer for Ultimate Spider-Man is up:

http://marvel.com/videos/watch/2228/...-man_trailer_1

Honestly......meh. I mean, the animation is quite nice (as it should be for the Man of Action team), but I really don't like the whole concept of doing it all as a team-up show. If they're shoving Spider-Bikes and the Iron Spider suit and all these other cameos and gimmicky shit into the series, then there's not going to be any time to develop anything with Spider-Man's rogues gallery (the second-best in all of comics, second only to Batman) or his supporting cast (flat-out the best in all of comics). That, and a lot of the jokes in the trailer kind of fall flat to me, like they're trying too hard to make it 'wacky.' And Spidey really isn't all that wacky; he's just a smartass that never shuts up.

I want it to be good, and it looks nice and flashy, but I can't watch the trailer and not think "This is what they cancelled Spectacular Spider-Man for?"
