I guess it has been more than a decade since the last one wrapped up.... but it would be super awkward rebooting them. Not like it is a superhero story where they can pick and choose elements and make their own take and their own story.... it would just be the same story with new actors.

The only way I could see it working is a reboot not as a film series but an HBO Max show where they go into deeper detail every school year... can even pad it out with original stuff too...

<s>HBO</s> Max has given a 10-year order for a new Harry Potter TV series. Really "putting the cart before the horse" with a 10-year order.

I just don't know how well it is going to do.... what with JK Rowling being very much "canceled".... but at the same time the Harry Potter movies & cast being so "beloved" that people won't be willing to accept new actors playing the roles.

Between people not wanting to accept new actors/reboot, and people not wanting to support anything new Rowling is involved in, could just be a big "disaster".....

Destor 04-12-2023 06:47 PM

Rowling is only canceled if you think twitter is real life. Most of earth agrees with the "terf" take. Case in point the Hogwarts game that just released is the highest selling game of the year despite twitter and gaming journos doing their absolute best to stop it.

That said there's no market for a potter reboot. Its not nostalgia yet its a generations childhood. You need another 10 years atleast.

Lock Jaw 04-12-2023 07:03 PM

Oh, thought I read the Hogwarts game sold terribly and didn't meet projections at all...... maybe that was "fake news"....

Destor 04-12-2023 07:04 PM

12 million units sold in the 1st two weeks alone

Destor 04-12-2023 07:05 PM

Its over 1 billion in revenue

Lock Jaw 04-12-2023 07:07 PM

Whatever. This is still true:

That being said, of course I will try to watch it when it comes out. :shifty:

Destor 04-12-2023 07:12 PM

Potter does nothing for me so its safe to say i will side with twitter and "boycott" this reboot

Cool, didn't know this was coming. June apparently.

Also apparently, I never watched the last (third) one in season 5.

XL 04-27-2023 03:34 PM

Oh nice. Looks like a great roster of guest stars too.

Nice

Feel like Mac looks "drastically different" in every season since the season he got fat.

Destor 06-09-2023 10:09 PM

How does Laura Dern get work? She's a hallmark level actress with a face that wouldn't work in radio.

Destor 06-09-2023 10:11 PM

Has she ever made a piece better?

Fignuts 06-10-2023 12:16 AM

I feel like I didn't see her for literally two decades and then all of a sudden she was everywhere.

Fignuts 06-10-2023 12:17 AM

Hands down my least favorite star wars character too. Admiral gender studies.

Destor 06-10-2023 12:22 AM

She was in star wars?

Destor 06-10-2023 12:23 AM

Ohhhh she was the arbitrarily cunty person with Poe. Yeah f tier character

Destor 06-10-2023 12:23 AM

I she could act it would be whatever but middling would be overselling her

GD 06-14-2023 05:30 PM

This new A24 trailer looks interesting.

Ryan Seacrest named the new host of Wheel of Fortune.

I'd have let Vanna White take over or Pat's daughter.

"Slayers: A Buffyverse Story" coming to Audible Oct 12

Featuring the voice talents of James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong.

"Set 10 years after the events of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 7 finale, will follow Spike as he goes deep undercover in Los Angeles and tries to blend in with the local evildoers. However, Indira, a new Slayer, blows his cover, and Spike is forced to go back to baby-slayer-sitting duty -- he searches high and low for a watcher for the newbie Slayer, but instead he comes across another Slayer from an alternate reality where Buffy Summers doesn't exist. That's none other than Cordelia Chase, and she needs Spike to help her deal with a vampire on the loose, who just happens to be his ex-girlfriend Drusilla."

Destor 09-14-2023 12:31 AM

Im on this day 1 but i need to know who's writing

Destor 09-14-2023 12:32 AM

Oh shit...Amber Benson is writing and directing...she is awful at both

Destor 09-14-2023 12:33 AM

Chance ranks high on the worst films ive ever endured.

Destor 09-14-2023 12:35 AM

Well...fuck

Destor 09-14-2023 12:35 AM

Lock Jaw 09-14-2023 12:54 AM

Damn... didn't know she was awful. Thanks for dampening my spirits.

Destor 09-14-2023 12:57 AM

How do you think i feel...

Lock Jaw 09-14-2023 01:05 AM

Cruised her IMDB... haven't seen or even heard of anything she has written or directed... So I will hold out hope... she also isn't writing/directing this thing alone

Destor 09-14-2023 02:26 AM

Hopefully the readings will atleast be good

"Bummed out" @ old grey Frasier still not finding "love" in his life....

Predicting that this show does "badly".... but will get a second season anyways. Canceled after two, though.

Listened to the first 3 "episodes" of this while on the road today.... it is not great. Good to hear some of the voices... sometimes.

But cringing at stuff like alternate reality Tara randomly having a monkey named "Mr. Pickles" just so she can have someone to talk to and verbalize her thoughts/plot points....

Finished listening to that Slayers: A Buffyverse Story thing... it got... slightly better, but still not good. There were one or two good ideas, but everything was just handled badly... cringed so hard at every appearance of "Mr. Pickles"

Seanny One Ball 11-02-2023 07:43 PM

Adrien Brody is so shit
