fuck, Real Madrid 4-2 Barcelona.
Top game though, still 6 points clear but really bad defending, Valdes was pretty poor too when called upon :( |
I don't know how people can say Owen is shit.
|
Yeah, people go really overboard on the criticism of Owen, though it's quite annoying how he can be awesome for Madrid and then miss bagloads in England games.
|
could have done with leicester holding on against Brighton :-\
oh well, beating burnley 1-0 was all we needed and now we're climbing up the division. I reckon the mighty gills will be safe if we cand beat crewe next week The Madrid-Barca game was pretty good to watch too. it'll be interesting to see how the season finishes now. |
The Spurs Newcastle game was one of the worst games I've seen this season (and not just cos we lost and we played like 11 bags of shit)
The Real Barca game was some of the most sublime attacking footy that I've ever seen. So it balanced out. |
Samuel Eto'o's goal was pretty good, just from the amount of effort and pace he used.
|
Eto'o's possibly out for the season with that knee injury now, bollocks :'(
-edit- It's just been said that it's not as bad as first feared and he'll only be out for 10 days  |
Stevie Gerrard is out of the Juve game :$:$:'(

We're gonna lose anyway, we might as well have an excuse That said, we play better WITHOUT him, guys like Biscan raise their games when Gerrard isn't around, and Xabi will be back as well. |
the thing with Owen is, he is a really good player but then he can suffer from dry spells and everyone starts to doubt him. Then he'll go and score loads again. I guess my point is he is a good player but he needs more games at Madrid and more goal scoring consistency
|
Cheers MMM :cool::y:
|
:(
Stevie G We're going to lose now. An unfit Xabi and Biscan in the middle. Why do injuries have to fuck us over. |
Cisse's back in the squad though, should play some part according to Benitez ;)

I do hope 'Pool win it actually purely because they'll abuse Utd for years over it. |
Fucking hell, every time they pull stats like that out you KNOW Liverpool are gonna lose

Another goal for Chelsea when something should've been done about it, lucky deflection of Lucio, and looks like they are through.
Milan are 1 up against Inter, so they're through as well |

Come on Inter :(
3 defeats in a season and all to your major rivals would be gutting. |

COME ON INTER I LOVE YOU

1-1 now in Bayern shades of offside but I'm happy cos it makes it more exciting.
And Bayern have to be the worst diving team I've ever seen - all over the place they are going down. |
Pretty disgraceful scenes in the Inter/Milan game
Dida just got hit by a flare, and the goalmouth is full of them Doesn't bode well for tomorrow :( |
Seems that about 50 odd flares were thrown on the pitch and engulfed Dida's goal in smoke and he was hit.
|
Chelsea are through
Game at San Siro's been suspended for now |
Just seen the flare hitting and he was remarkably lucky that it hit him on the shoulder. If I was Milan I would refuse to play on.

Its crazy just watching its been abandoned. Inter :(
|
Game in Milan has been abandoned. Tried to restart it but the flares just kept coming.
|
:nono: @ Inter v Milan
AC go through now though. |
Not seen the Inter game yet, i'll check out the highlights later.
Chelsea through, a bit lucky i suppose but overall it was deserved. Also, Luton are up i believe. |

WOW, inter fans going crazy lighting the goddamn field on fire. First time im ashamed to be a supporter of my team :(
|
|
Munich left it way too late. Shame too, those 2 goals could have made it hell interesting if they'd been scored about 10 minutes earlier [/obvious]
|
Flares are magnificent in adding colour to games but it's disgraceful when they are thrown onto the field. Disgraceful by the Inter fans...the sad thing is those sorts of incidents happen regularly in Greece and other areas around Europe especially, with flares, bottles, seats etc being piffed on field and hitting or just missing players, officials etc. :nono:
Some pics I found (I haven't seen the incident yet but I will later today) http://www.theage.com.au/ffximage/20...b__430x262.jpg http://us.news1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...1347438497.jpg http://cache.gettyimages.com/comp/52...57C85AE85A779B |

Also in that bottom picture yianni posted, you can see 2 flares about to be launched [/obvious]

Gooner that arseblog.com thing is a load of shit regarding UEFA being harsher on English clubs than the rest. What about when Roma got the punishment of having 3 home matches behind closed doors after that incident with the coin hitting Frisk in the head on Matchday 1 of this season's Champions League?
If an English club's supporters chuck flares onto the pitch and hit a player like Inter's fans did they'd get the same sanctions. English clubs were banned from European competitions cos there were incidents in stadiums where cunts died as a result of English hooligans, like Heysel 1985. On that note, I hear there'll be a beef up in security for Juventus-Liverpool tomorrow cos some Juve supporters may feel like "revenge" for that terrible day 20 years ago. Back to the flares, I thought they were banned fullstop in the Champions League? |
Heysel wasn't entirely Liverpool fans' fault, though
|

To be fair the idiots who stuck up a chicken wire "fence" should have had a bit more sense. In fact the game should probably have never been played there in the first place. Fact is, English hooliganism has died down compared to a few decades ago, the Italians appears to be on the rise and it might take a few deaths for something to be done about it.
And flares should be banned full stop from games, I don't understand what purpose they serve. |
The "neutral" section was just asking for trouble.

Despite this, there were a number of contributing factors which resulted in the incidents, things which were not the fault of Liverpool and would possibly have saved the lives of those people. The stadium was a complete shithole, it was falling apart. The fans were not segregated properly and the security officer did absolutely nothing to prevent a confrontation between the fans from happening. A lot of people forget that the Juventus fans were throwing things at the Liverpool fans, but of course, the end result is what always happens with hooligans..... its the proper fans who end up getting hurt. Liverpool fans were responsible for what happened, but I am telling you right now, that if fans from 2 countries were put in an unsegregated area at the European Cup final, then another Heysel disaster would be very very possible |

Dudek, Finnan, Hyppia, Carragher, Traore, Riise, Alonso, Biscan, Nunez, Garcia, Baros
Not a bad side at all |

Liverpool fans remember Heysel, they just don't make it that public because we are ashamed of what happened, this has been the perfect chance to publicly say that the Liverpool fans of 2005 are sorry for what happened. I'm not gonna have a go at the Juventus fans who turned their backs on everything, like the media did, because I can understand how, to some people, its completely unforgivable what happened.
So, 0-0 at half time. Zambrotta is destroying us down their left and Nunez has looked truly inept. Xabi ain't gonna last 90 minutes, and Baros is not trying as hard as he could. Played well in defence, but I can't see it lasting 90 minutes. |
It's a terrible game really, but if Liverpool go through then i won't mind.
Lyon are heading through aswell  |
why were they allowed to have flares? BADS SECURITY
|
only complete an utter assholes would let a bunhc of drunk fans inside a stadium witgh thousands of people inside, with flares. You could kill somebody with one. Sure I guess the look nice, but guns are nice, should every fan have a gun?
|
This is the most boring game I've ever seen.
|
Milan Baros is fucking shit.
I don't understand how he can play as awesomely as he did for the Czech republic but look like such a headless chicken now. |
Word on Baros he's been wank for a long while now.
In stoppage time - If Juve score it'l be a travesty. |
hooray for the Premiership

Don't be such a tool
It was an exciting game for Liverpool and Juventus fans If you didn't care who won then you'd find it boring |
I actually thought the second half was quite entertaining
|
Well done Liverpool, English side guaranteed in the final now
Juventus were really worse than i'd have expected. Lyon lost on pens to PSV :( |
|
Would like to add to those Baros comments. He is well and truly gash.
|
Obviously Chelski are gonna piss all over us, but its nice to beat a side like Juventus
|

That's all that matters |

You should have had your heart in your mouth and the relief of victory was like cumming in your belly button Fuck Chelsea, I think we've got a good chance with Alonso, Gerrard and Cisse back Not to mention they've only beat us slightly each time, without Cisse and injuring Alonso |
Didn't expect that one have to say. Chelsea Milan final then more than likely and Milan to win it. I'd put a fortune on them over 2 legs against Chelsea but in the one off final who knows.
|
Oh yeah, didn't see this posted but Hitzlsperger has signed a pre-contract with Stuttgart
Looks like O'Leary will need that £20m more than ever :lol::lol: |

No wonder he's disappointed about the match then
Probably wondering why Liverpool were passing instead of boxing each other |
Frustrating that Liverpool are so shit in away games domestically when you see how they've done in Europe. They might not be in the title race if they had decent away form but 4th place would be sewn up.
|
I think it's disappointing Liverpool aren't hyped enough for domestic games
But I'm sure Rafa will have a clearout in the Summer, all we need is a forth place spot Champions league is great but we're not good enough yet, least we can laugh at the mancs, if we win, amazing |

Sorry I didn't realise I'd writen in code. |
Pool eh?
Tougher than Juve, what a crap team they are. Lack incision, movement and definately a finisher (I don't even rate Trez.. he misses to many imo and is one lazy fucker) Anyway I gotta get up at 7:30 am.. down to the Bridge to get me tickets for the match ^_^. |

Very few 2 keepers 6 defenders 6 midfielders and 5 strikers 2 of which have no experience really and one of whom is Carlton Cole who is possibly the worst player I've ever seen for us
|
Wow, I had the sheakes for the whole game. Had to look away for most of the match.
I'm so proud of the team for the effort they put in. Hyppia was a rock tonight, man of the match for me. Oh and all the Baros haters, look at the work effort he puts in. His finishing has been poor but he gives a 110 % each match. He runs his heart out and that's what matters. Good to see Cisse and Alonso back. Bring on Chelsea, underdogs again, revenge time. |
