I can understand that I shouldn't be able to slam someone endlessly but I can't even really do anything at all after the SPD.
If I try the banishing fist right after, they still have a very good chance of getting away.
With the game being pretty zippy, Zangief now moving like an arthritic turtle and with people able to juggle me to the point of losing almost 40% of my health in a single Tekken combo, it seems pretty hopeless for me. I'm not being bitchy, I'm just looking at it and thinking it seems unwinnable against anyone with half a clue how to play against Zangief. :(

I couldn't do SPD endlessly before the update but at least I could stay close enough to actually attack them in some way.

What you're complaining about is the 'neutral game', after certain events characters are in a position where no one has an obvious advantage and the metagame restarts. Asuka similarly has to re-approach after a combo. This can be amended by being creative and knowing who you're fighting.

Rather than complain about it endlessly, I'll just say I don't like the speed change. I can take moves being weakened and hit boxes being adjusted but the speed change seemed to just be a step too far for me.

I wonder what makes them change that stuff. I know it's probably because "pro" players give feedback or the QA team give feedback but my paranoid, cynical side thinks it's because there are hoardes of Ryu/Kazuya players on a Capcom forum bitching endlessly about something and eventually get their way. No one very complains about the popular guys, it's always the big strong guys, I've noticed.

Using this as motivation to really get to grips with Poison and, maybe, get her somewhere near SSFIV Zangief level one day. Tempted to have Zangief or Hugo as back up for her but also thinking I should be adventurous and try someone else out.

Changes are made with overall balance in mind, not so much every single complaint from certain players. A widespread complaint was how effective grapplers (namely Gief and Hugo) were at the range game, which was absurd. Hugo already received a nerf way before the patch, but Gief still had unusual range priority on par with, say Cody - which is crazy. A lot of this was explained in the change videos pages back.

Ryu, Kazuya, and other 'top' characters got major nerfs possibly worse than Gief. Raven was hit hard, for instance.

I've not had "live" commentary since I was a kid and my friends and I played No Mercy and my little brother impersonated JR. He did a surprisingly good job of it, too.

I live in my own house (not a flat/apartment) and my brother stays with me. It's fine but I want my own space so I'm wanting to switch the house for a flat/apartment to myself. Or maybe a tiny bungalow.

I want to just focus on myself for a while. We've lived togethor since birth, obviously. We're even starting to resemble the classic "brothers" look of being total opposites physically and in personality. That's a danger sign, right there.

My older bro turned down living with me a year ago. He didn't agree with returning in Miami and it's one of the reasons I stay with a roomy now. He taught me how to play Street Fighter II. Manged to beat me in Street Fighter 4 last year somehow.

I beat my brother at SF 90%+ of the time but he very rarely plays it, so that's probably why. I focus on power, he focuses on speed.

Yeah lots of comebacks tonight. You move in for the kill and I do well when people are extra aggressive. You should probably stop jumping forever. I try to jump for cross-ups exclusively, of if I think I'll jump over a move.

Making me want to play again. My Live subscription is out next month, and I'm on the fence about if I want to renew.

I'm going to Baltimore on vacation until next Tuesday starting tomorrow, and I'm out of practice, but I will find a way to re-up the subscription if I need to. I really want to play with you guys, and I'm no good, but I spent way too much time in training mode and not enough time playing.

Dunno if I should fork out and buy a months gold purely to play against you guys.

I've not played any fighter besides MK for a long long time. So I'd be rusty as hell at a game I never quite got on with in the first place.

I've at least got Bing Rewards set up to accrue some points each day, but it takes over a month to get enough points to purchase a month of Gold. Regardless, I will find something. My subscription goes out on 08/04, and I probably want to figure something out before then. Skipped on a 39.99 eBay deal recently thinking I was just going to let it go, but I'm changing my tune I think. Just got PS Plus...was trying to justify that.

I prefer SCV.
