Sorry RBF but I can see your team really struggling next year.

As for Quashie I have always thought that he was the kind of player that people would like in their team. A guy willing to fight for the team plus he has a pretty mean shot on him.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-20-2005 05:35 PM

Aaron Hughes has signed for Villa

Spurs have agreed to sell Simon Davies to Everton for £4m, apparently Arteta is going to set them back about £2.8m on top of that. Bit surprised about Davies, on his day he can be great, only thing is he's highly injury prone.

Apparently West Brom have offered £2m PLUS Earnshaw for Andy Johnson. lol, Rob Earnshaw, Welsh goalscoring hero.

Danny Electric 05-20-2005 10:37 PM

I wonder what the goal ratio thing is this season for goals from open play between Earnshaw and Johnson. Wouldn't suprise me if Earnshaw has more goals from open play.

Danny Electric 05-20-2005 10:40 PM

Well Earnshaw had 12 goals from 18 games in the Prem and Johnson had 21 goals from 37 games according to www.skysports.com

toxic rooster 05-20-2005 11:31 PM

That would include penalties though?

packt up 05-21-2005 07:22 AM

I bet goals in open play and goals per minute on the pitch will favour Earnshaw.

Aaron Hughes hmmmm thought he was worth more than 1million but then I wasn't his biggest fan so meh.

Oh and COME ON ARSENAL. Apparently they've left Sol on the bench.

Rob 05-21-2005 07:52 AM

Andy Johnson just lost to Lampard for my most overrated player. The guy is nothing. He'll get well sussed if he is in the Premiership again next season. WBA should stick with Earnshaw.

Earnshaw missed his, first game for them. I think it was.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-21-2005 09:40 AM

Rob Earnshaw is average. Andy Johnson is a very good player. I'd take Johnson over him any day of the week, but he'll end up at a better side than WBA.

Wengerland 05-21-2005 10:04 AM

Yeah, i'd rather have Johnson really, 10 goals in open play in a struggling side as a lone striker is hardly bad, and penalties need to be converted.

Fair play to Earnshaw, he seems to have improved since the move, mainly because his finishing at first was terrible, but i'd still have AJ.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-21-2005 10:10 AM

Johnson won a lot of those penalties by making mugs out of defenders too.

yianni 05-21-2005 02:30 PM

Arsenal were fucking disgraceful tonight...I hate both teams but honestly Man U were robbed. Sometimes there is no justice in football. Boring, pathetic shit from Arsenal the whole game and snatched it on the shootout.

jerichoholic169 05-21-2005 02:34 PM

Yet again United were the better side against Arsenal. No doubting United should have won as Arsenal just didn't come to the races today and seemed almost to play for penalties. But i can't complain as United were outplayed by Munich and won it at the death so all's fair. Just hope both United and Arsenal take a good hard luck at themselves and work out where the goals are going to come from with RVN and henry not in form or not playing.

Rob Ban Fan 05-21-2005 03:19 PM

ahahaha apparently Gin Smith has been sacked by Lowe as part of his cost cutting measures.

Now I can't wait to see Redknapp going on Sky Sports News, calling Lowe an idiot and a liar, slagging him off and threatening to leave like he did when Milan allegedly wanted to sack Smith.

Then I just need Clive Woodward to be brought in as Director of Football and it will make my day.

soconnor 05-21-2005 03:47 PM

I enjoyed watching Dr Who even more knowing Christopher Eccleston would be devasted. I'm not Arsenals biggest fan but against Man United I am very pleased. If you can't score a goal then you don't win, whoever deserves it doesn't matter. The tears on the lads faces, priceless. I know Wednesday I might be gutted to, but least that's a major cup final against the best. I'm happy and positive. Bring it on.

LK 05-21-2005 04:15 PM

Gutted. United were robbed. Positives to take from the gaem though since this was the third time that we have out played Arsenal this year. Ronaldo was immense to day.

It's one thing having all the chances, but if you don't put any away, then what do you expect?

packt up 05-21-2005 07:40 PM

LOL at the result thats all I can say. Sometimes you got to love the way football never turns out like it should. I personally was loving it seeing that little diving shit Ronaldo crying his eyes out at the end.

But maybe thats just me. And soconnor. Glad to see all that money Manchester spent this season gave them a better season ahahaha. Not even enough to be better than Arsenal this season. Shame.

Team Sheep 05-21-2005 07:41 PM

Lol, Ronaldo doesn't take runners-up medals very well does he. Remember him at the Euro final last year. :D

jerichoholic169 05-21-2005 07:56 PM

Who remembers what happened the last time United didn't win anything and came 3rd?? Oh that's it we won the treble the next year....here's to hoping that happens again next year...it's gonna need a good summer of transfer dealings but it could happen.

Danny Electric 05-21-2005 10:31 PM

I remember, we came second that season. :(

I laughed at Ronaldo though, laughed when he cried and laughed at the smarmy look he gave Lehmann when he scored his penalty. He's a cock.

Right, back from the fucking pub and celebratory drinks with random Gooners. Fucking loud cunts for a sunday arvo, and not a single fucking one was 'embarrassed' or anything to be celebrating victory today. A cup is a cup, and unbelievably Ferret is making sense here.

I would have gone out to celebrate the win last night, but it was fucking 3am when the game finished and I couldn't exactly abandon my 18th to go drinking before the game. A lot of cunts down there today were thinking the exact same thing, they couldn't really celebrate properly last night when the game finished

Yeah dream on. I'm the first to admit the treble was amazing as was that team you had at the time but times have changed and you aren't the best team in England anymore. Chelsea are set for some dominance in my opinion so good luck getting the Premiership nevermind a treble.

well i can dream. we'd have to sort out:

our goalkeeper so he's consistently good,

buy a world class centre back (silvestre is good but not world class and we need competition there),

midfield needs a bit more depth (get rid of kleberson, replacement for keane to learn from him),

and get RVN back in form

and not have any crucial injuries and hope chelsea do.

i think hargreaves could possibly be a good buy as well as hes still fairly young and can learn from roy keane while hes still playing fairly well. hopefully, somehow, we'll be able to afford to buy a proven centre back like cannavaro that can really sort out our defence and mean that when rio isn't playing, we're not screwed.

Wengerland 05-22-2005 09:20 AM

Thought i'd posted this earlier but you finished 2nd in the season before the treble was won.

jerichoholic169 05-22-2005 09:50 AM

really? nuts. i just remember us having to qualify for the groups stages. then again its that long ago i cant remember.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-22-2005 10:20 AM

Hargreaves is shit.

Darren Fletcher is Roy Keane's replacement. He's a brilliant player. There's not much wrong with Manchester United. They could do with getting rid of Saha, mainly because he's permanently injured, and getting another striker in, and another player who is comfortable out wide, because playing Rooney there is ridiculous.

i can't see fletcher flying in to tackles like keane does. im a big admirer of fletcher's, always have been, he'll be phenomenal in a few years, but he isn't a roy keane in the holding player ilk like everyone has these days.

isn't ole back next season? or has he retired/been released? he used to play on the right when he wasn't a sub.

Crazy I don't really care either way for Scottish football but it must be amazing to be a Rangers fan and gutting to be a Celtic one. You don't get a stronger rivalry in sport anywhere probably.

Rob 05-22-2005 12:45 PM

Okay, I've had over a day to calm down but I still can't believe Arsenal STOLE the FA Cup. Never seen such a one sided match where the dominating team didn't win. Until the Van Persie free kick, we were all wondering if Arsenal even bothered showing up.

To be fair, if you can't take a penalty then you don't deserve to win.

Dundee getting relegated sucked more. I walked out the Sports Cafe thinking if Man United lost then Dundee must have stayed up (I never get a double whammy weekend) and yet they were down. Had I gone home and found my girlfriend in bed with another bloke, I might have gone on a killing spree.

Delighted Celtic lost the title today though.

lol I feel for you Rob there is no argument that you completely whored them for the entire match. If that was my team losing in the end I'd be pissed too. But as it was I was all too happy you lost ({) :p

Rob 05-22-2005 01:11 PM

If I was an Arsenal fan, I'd be embarrassed. 4 Arsenal fans sent me txts yesterday, one of which sent me about 10 txts the day we beat them at Old Trafford calling Rooney and Ronaldo every curse under the sun, saying we was robbed. Whatever though. We'll be back.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-22-2005 01:30 PM

Maybe you can play Joel Glazer on the wing.

Maluco 05-22-2005 01:36 PM

For all those making comparisons with Liverpool-Arsenal and United-Bayern, you need to remember that in both cases no matter who dominated and when, Liverpool and United turned it round with two moments that produced goals in normal play and a scoreline that read 2-1, beaten on goals.

Fact is, yesterday, Arsenal did nothing to win the game (apart from a free kick) in 120 mins of playing time, yeah they won it and congrats, but was pathetic really.

Wengerland 05-22-2005 01:49 PM

Kilbane for Carsley ;) Can't see any of the others playing left midfield. Parker would be a good signing but £10m for him and Davies seems a bit much.

Some bloke put £20 on the following

Premiership: Chelsea 10/11
Champ'ship: Sunderland 15/2
League One: Luton 6/4
League Two: Yeovil 4/1
Scottish Prem: Rangers 3/1
Scottish One: Falkirk 1/2
Scottish Two: Brechin 15/8
Scottish Three: Gretna 2/7

Total odds of 4999-1 earning him winnings of £89,974.43.

I'd put a bet on next year but the Scottish lower divisions would be my stumbling point.

Dazz 05-25-2005 09:14 AM

I am lazy so I can't be fucked to find out how many of them came through.

Regardless, next season I am sticking £10 on the following...

Chelsea to win the league
Chelsea to win the Champions League
Southampton to go up
West Ham to go up (as I think PNE will win the final)
Portsmouth to go down
Rangers to win the SPL

Not sure whether to also include Wisey being in charge of Leeds by Christmas, or do that seperatley, probably do it seperate.

I've never seen one player so derided by his own fans as Kilbane was at Sunderland. He's less incompetent than he was but that doesn't mean he's any good.

That's because he was brilliant for Ireland but then a bit poor for Sunderland. He wasn't even that bad at Sunderland, but he's become a better player now. Obviously since he's 27 and coming into his peak.

Love him. Excellent player, has had a fantastic season.

You might do Kirk, but your not at least a 95% certainty and you can easily mess up any accumilator. If you get Henri Camera backI'd back you, because that man is the goods :y:. Shame he will go to a better team though.

I think wolves have a great chance of going up and thats coming from a birmingham city fan.

I think Milan will win 1-0 tonight.

Dazz 05-25-2005 02:00 PM

If Milan win, I hope Kaka scores it, not sure what bets to put on for goalscorers though, don't think Shev will score, kinda fancy Gerrad and Riise
