Disney's CEO recently stated they have no plans on making any R-rated Marvel films as a response to questions about Deadpool's success as an R-rated film leading them to do the same.

Quote:

Fox's R-rated super hero movie Deadpool was a huge hit and Batman v Superman may get an R-rated home video cut, so you might be wondering if Disney would follow suit with its own adult-oriented Marvel movies. That's not going to happen, at least not anytime soon, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.

"We don't have any plans to make R-rated Marvel movies," Iger said during a call with shareholders today, as reported by Polygon.

There's only one thing in the Marvel comics that got me interested lately and it's the Avengers Pleasant Hill story.

Check it out, when you get the chance.

Luke Cage goes live on Netflix on September 30th. Announced by the man himself Mike Colter.

Cloak & Dagger has been given a series order on Freeform (formally ABC Family).

Marvel announced next year's Spiderman film will have cameos by other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

Quote:

Iconic Marvel superhero Spider-Man joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this May's Captain America: Civil War, appearing alongside other famous heroes like Iron-Man and Captain America. Now, it's been confirmed that 2017's standalone Spider-Man movie will see the wall-crawling web-slinger joined by other MCU characters, though at this stage, it's not clear who.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared the news with Entertainment Weekly today. "[Spider-man] is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth," Feige said.

Tom Holland will play a 15-year-old Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man movie, a reboot that will be directed by Cop Car's Jon Watts.

So it's official.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...g-jon-bernthal

Frank Castle is back. Entertainment Weekly has learned that Marvel and Netflix have ordered a "Punisher" series, spinning off of "Daredevil" season two. The series will star Jon Bernthal, reprising his role as the Punisher, and "Hannibal's" Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.

Sixx 04-29-2016 10:57 AM

Already a teaser

drave 04-29-2016 11:01 AM

Sweet. Really enjoyed this version of Punisher and if is even HALF as good as the Daredevil series, it will not disappoint.

Sixx 04-29-2016 11:06 AM

Yeah, at first I really hated that casting, but now I think Jon Bernthal was the best Punisher so far.

Sixx 04-29-2016 11:07 AM

Also, he refrained himself from scratching/touching his head all the time like he did on Walking Dead, so kudos to him.

Every acting coach will tell you the same thing. Give a manurism or quirk to the character you're playing. We as humans all have them. Shane's was the head rub, not the actors however. Im sure if we rewatched his Frank Castle we'd find he too has a quirk.

As far as this being a series...it will be good but I wish they werent making it. It'd rather have him as a loose cannon popping up almost randomly in the defenders runs.

Sixx 04-29-2016 11:58 AM

Don't go all serious on me, brah.

JON BERNTHAL CAN'T STOP RUBBING HIS HEAD

drave 04-29-2016 12:37 PM

BECAUSE HE SHAVED HIS FRO AND HIS SCALP IS ITCHY!!!!!

Shoulda tried some Selsun Blue or Pert Plus.

Sixx 05-08-2016 08:05 PM

So, Steve Rogers is back to being an Aryan ubermensch.

Fignuts 05-10-2016 01:41 AM

So not only is wolverine 3 rated r but the producer has confirmed it takes place in the future and has a very "western" feel to it.

So, looks like we are getting Old Man Logan. Going to have to change things quite a bit given who's in the original story.

Kalyx triaD 05-10-2016 02:07 PM

Like I says before, adapting the tone and theme is more important than adapting characters.

Dragonball Evolution had the characters.

Sixx 05-10-2016 02:11 PM

I wonder who they'll use.

Gonna need to change the story, it won't work without the Banner clan.

Best they could replace him with is probably Blob and I just don't see it somehow.

Simple Fan 05-10-2016 07:50 PM

Being set in the future I wouldn't expect Magneto or Professor X in it. Would love to see Deadpool replace Hawkeye since he should still be alive and he has experience with the X-Men universes version of a super soldier formula. Omega Red and Juggernaut could be some villains that control the US. I think they can do it justice.

Kalyx triaD 05-10-2016 08:08 PM

Actually Patrick Stewart is confirmed in there for his final go as Prof X.

Kalyx triaD 05-10-2016 08:08 PM

And X23 is extremely likely.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Wonder if he'll just be really old or only show up in Logan's mind or something.

Fignuts 05-10-2016 08:44 PM

They could use dr doom in place of red skull.

Sixx 05-10-2016 08:54 PM

They could, yeah, but Red Skull isn't even a very important part of Old Man Logan.

Really can't think of anyone other than Blob to have an incestious family of cannibals, but he's B-list at max.

Unless they just totally change the plot, which will probably be the case.

Simple Fan 05-10-2016 10:40 PM

I think they could very easily put Beast in place of Hulk and not have to change a whole lot.

Um what? Did you read the comic?

The climax of the second act of the story was him taking out the red skull.

slik 05-13-2016 02:51 PM

This sounds like a great idea that lots of time and money should be spent on:

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/05/...ic-four-again/

Fignuts 05-13-2016 04:58 PM

Fuck's sake just give it to marvel already.

Shadow 05-13-2016 05:31 PM

Oh my god just stop. Jesus. You made the Thing's catchphrase something someone would say while abusing him. Just end it already.

Simple Fan 05-13-2016 06:23 PM

I think a second one is warranted. The first really wasn't a bad movie just didn't feel like a Fantastic Four movie until the end to me. If they can tie it in with Deadpool and the X-Men it might be alright.

Wishbone 05-13-2016 08:22 PM

Oh my fucking god... By the time Marvel actually does get Fantastic Four back the franchise will be run so far into the ground that not even they can save it. FFS, Fox, just give it up already. Shit...

ClockShot 05-13-2016 09:39 PM

While we're on the Fantastic 4 topic,

Michael B. Jordan just joined Black Panther.

So unless the Human Torch got a part in the movie, I'd consider Fantastic 4 2.0 dead for the moment.

Errr, Red Skull was easily forgettable in that comic. It was all about the Banner clan.

Blonde Moment 05-14-2016 06:21 AM

Should do Old Man Logan Lone Wolf and Cub style with the cub being "X-23". Show the relationship between the two as she grows as he struggles to protect her as his abilities start to be ravaged by age resulting in the roles being reversed by the end of the movie, his death and her assuming the mantle

Kalyx triaD 05-14-2016 11:24 AM

That might be too artsy for a big budget film, though The Wolverine was similarly against the usual grain (until Fox put a fucking robot in there).

I'd watch that tho.

Damian Rey 2.0 05-14-2016 12:46 PM

Loved the Wolverine.

Fignuts 05-21-2016 07:45 AM

Rumor making the rounds that marvel is considering adding three more series to netflix.

Moonknight
Ghost Rider
Blade

Moon Knight is a great character. Probably most excited for that.

Ghost Rider seems like it would be hard to do on a netflix budget. I've had the same reservations about tne upcoming Iron Fist, though that all depends on how much they go into kun luun and the mystical side of the character.

Blade, I dunno. I love the originals. Yes even the third one (my Parker Posey fetish helps with that)

Sixx 05-21-2016 07:48 AM

There already was a TV show about Blade with some shitty rapper. And it sucked.

I'd love to see a Moon Knight series, hope they include his schizophremia.

Blonde Moment 05-21-2016 08:09 AM

Moonknight and Blade would be good ones.
Would love to see Blade 70's style

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2016 01:03 PM

There was already a Blade show, guys. It sucked. So let's never do another one again. Nope.

Ruien 05-21-2016 01:07 PM

Blade as in the black guy who kills vampires? Never knew that was Marvel. Ghost Rider is lame. No idea who Moonknight is but he has a cool name.

Lock Jaw 05-21-2016 01:07 PM

People here seem to go crazy about Moon Knight.... Guess I never read his earlier stuff, but read a few of his newer series (probably post Civil War I think, or starting just before)..... And I didn't care for it or the character at all....

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2016 02:04 PM

One could say the first Blade movie saved comic movies from being predetermined jokes after the Joel Shoemaker effectively killed the sub-genre. Blade paved for X-Men and Spider-Man, and here we are. We owe a great debt to Blade.

Destor 05-21-2016 02:07 PM

Blade 2 was the best kung fu movie released by a major studio in 25 years.

Just saying.

Wishbone 05-21-2016 08:41 PM

Blade could make for a really cool series. In fact I like the idea of it being made a part of the tv side of Marvel rather than the cinematic side. I just feel like it lends itself better to that sort of format.

Don't know much about Moonknight so I'm not really gonna say much. I'll probably give it a watch just to see if it's any good, but my expectations are pretty much non-existent at this point.

Ghost Rider is one of the coolest concepts in Marvel IMHO. I've always felt that the movies didn't do it justice at all. Would love to see them pull it off well this time around, and I think being tied in with the likes of the other darker toned tv series could do it some good. The budget stuff is a tad bit worrisome, but then again DC's shows have managed to remain entertaining despite sup par special effects. If they do it right I think they can overcome that obstacle.

Fignuts 05-21-2016 08:49 PM

I really just want a good Ghost Rider movie. He's probably the most badass character, visually and conceptually, in marvel comics.

Kalyx triaD 05-23-2016 12:45 PM

Am I the only guy who like Spirit of Vengeance?

Rammsteinmad 05-23-2016 12:58 PM

I thought it was alright. Wasn't amazing by any means, but Ghost Rider visually looked perfect.

Sixx 05-26-2016 05:53 PM

Really been enjoying lots of Moon Knight lately. I'm not big on books that are like an acid trip but this thing, where you have no idea whether it's just in his mind or not is really well done.

Sixx 05-28-2016 06:01 AM

As you probably know, Steve Rogers got his youth back. And the first issue of his new comic book comes with a retarded twist.

SPOILER: show
He is secretly an agent of Hydra and there's a flashback showing that has always been the case. The writer already said it ain't no clone, he ain't brainwashed, etc. This is so fucking stupid and makes zero sense.

Like I said, the writer made it clear, there's no brainwashing or anything involved and it's the real deal. Though I am sure they will find an even dumber way to explain this. There is no way they'll stick to this story. They just wanted to "shock" the readers or whatever. Still stupid.

Rammsteinmad 05-28-2016 10:25 AM

Yeah, of course the writer would say that now. Wait it out, it won't be that way forever. I call "brainwashing" or something.

Lock Jaw 05-28-2016 11:04 AM

Yeah, there is definitely gonna be some twist to it.

Rammsteinmad 05-28-2016 11:10 AM

Definitely a nice publicity stunt by Marvel, and is definitely a nice change than the usual "major character dies" storyline only for them to eventually come back.

How did Cap come back from death when he was killed after Civil War? Perhaps something was done to him them.

Turned out he wasn't really dead but in "suspended animation" reliving his past or some stupid bullshit like that. To be fair, I don't think even the writers knew what it was all about. They just needed a way to bring him back.

So suspended animation is apparently a thing that happens when you get shot. Keep that in mind, yo.

Rammsteinmad 05-28-2016 04:04 PM

Aha yeah that's right. I did read it at the time but christ that was ten years ago! Okay, so yeah something happened to him while he was suspended animation. Boom!

Fignuts 05-28-2016 09:25 PM

Yeah but they're saying he's been a hydra agent all along, not just since his return.

Anyway, they can pull a jessica drew and reveal he's been a triple agent all along, reporting to nick fury while pretending to work for hydra.

Simple Fan 05-28-2016 11:28 PM

Haven't read it, just what's been talked about in the thread but could it just be a paranoid Steve Rodgers dream?

Kalyx triaD 05-29-2016 12:07 PM

If he was an agent the whole time he's the worst ever; missing countless opportunities to kill countless heroes for HYDRAs advantage. Claiming powerful artifacts, sabotaging plans, or just dragging his feet to allow HYDRA victories.

If THAT is how a secret HYDRA agent operated for nearly 100yrs than Red Skull should kill him. Again

That's why the twist is stupid. Not for his morals or whatever bullshit people are being bitches about online; that this would make him the worst HYDRA agent ever.

Lock Jaw 05-29-2016 02:54 PM

Could just be a "sleeper agent"..... in that they brainwashed him in the 40s sometime, and then never "activated" him, despite him kicking their ass all the time, until now.

Shadow 05-29-2016 05:05 PM

Rammsteinmad 06-11-2016 09:50 PM

So I'm re-watching the first season of Agents of SHIELD after picking up the DVD about a month ago for a fiver. It's kinda weird seeing, not only how much things have changed over the three seasons (character development etc), but just overall, in the first few episodes there's pretty much some kinda MCU reference in every scene.

Obviously this was their first TV show and they wanted to firmly establish that this is set in the same cinematic universe, but it's just kinda weird seeing there be so many references, when now there doesn't seem to be quite as much of a connection.

He's apparently quitting the superhero biz after Civil War 2 wraps up. That's all we know so far from what I've gathered. Apparently the girl is the same one that they mentioned at the start of all new all different Marvel who cracked Tony's design or whatever.
