Not blaming AJ, just explaining my apathy as a fan towards it and why I think it is stupid booking.
He is a breath of fresh air and 38 years old. His time should be now. 3 straight PPV losses off the bat and straight into a feud with Cena. |

Well yeah no doubt, but let's get realistic here, they have what they want to do and how they want to do things, and as a performer like AJ Styles, you can either sink or swim... which means hanging in there while they fuck you over with bad writing. We all know Stephanie or Shane will be making "The Club" look weak within the month but all you can do is ignore that drivel and hope for some good segments.
CyNick doesn't post here anymore so we don't have someone trying to convince us how much of a genius Vince and Stephanie are so we don't need to bring out how befuddling the creative direction is. You're at a 1/5 success rate with the company, but that one out of the five can be pretty alright. |
Come on man, that doesn't sound Dastardly at all, that sounds like Defeated Dale Newstead :$
I wasn't a big Daniel Bryan fan, but if it showed one thing, it is that the fans can win out. I hope Reigns continues to be booed, he is a terrible, boring character, a charisma vacuum. He puts me off watching Raw so much. There is a place for a more polished Reigns in the future, but the time should be now for the guys that are over now. Who knows, if people keep voicing their opinion, we could get something special again soon. |
But DB didn't prove that at all. If anything it proved the WWE right in that fans were fickle and would forget about him overnight (which they did.) The "YES!" chants have become a parody that isn't even associated with him or his revolution anymore.
|
He's retired due to injury. Fans can't YES a clear health. They did not forget about him at all. If anything the YES chants are a permanent reminder of what he did.
|
He didn't have the look, size, mic skills or any "style" that WWE actively encourage, yet he rose to the point where he was a focus of television and then beat two of the biggest stars of the last 20 years in one night to be the champion of said company.
You can argue about the length of time he would have stayed there if he were fit and healthy, but you can't argue that he didn't reach the top of the tree on the back of the popularity the fans gave him. |
Point being, if the fans weren't vocal and just accepted what was happening, his story and wrestling history would have been very different.
Accepting that this is the way it works and just enjoying the scraps in amongst the crap they are serving up, could deny someone like AJ a moment like Bryan's. |
Only big concern I have about the Styles-Cena feud is The Club becoming Nexus 2.0 in the sense of losing their first two big feuds back-to-back.
Nexus lost a lot of momentum with the Cena feud and then Orton finished off whatever real value the group had left with the next feud. With the feud against Reigns, Gallows & Anderson looked more like somewhat useless lackeys than as an Outsider-like group the sheets were teasing the WWE planned for their debut and group formation. |
they already are useless lackeys

As for the YES! chants they have nothing to do with what Bryan did anymore. People chant them for anything they remotely like now. Hell, they chant YES! for people that embody exactly what Bryan's movement stood against. Even Roman has elicited YES! chants in the past. I'm not arguing that Bryan didn't accomplish some amazing things in his career, but to say his little revolution succeeded is just false. It barely got him over the hump, and it hasn't helped anyone else reach that level either. |
I think they're good so they'll get good reactions, but WWE booking jobs anyone that isn't their own... so there couldn't be a solid outsider faction

Should have replaced Rassling Q&A Forum with Backyard Rassling Forum
|
You misspelled "Backyard Gymnastics" mate.
|
PPV: Cena will win by DQ
PPV 2: Cena will win by Pinfall PPV 3, 2 out of 3 falls: AJ gets pinned and submits. |
Artistic Combat

getting tired of all this backyard shit in here.....
|
lol just try not address it, it may go away
|
Why does it always have to have awful music? Maybe if you changed it from Death-core to classical music, more people might be forthcoming of it.
|
Nah, it's always going to be trash, just a bunch of dangerous dicks looking to break others necks with some flippy floppy twirly move.
|
I'm just amazed that there are still people doing backyard wrestling in 2016.
|
I thought that backyard wrestling died in 2004.
|
|
Nice of him to just stand there on the ropes waiting forthe move.
|
Maybe he lost a contact lens.
Oh, hang on. |
