Star Wars and Marvel based expansion packs were also rumored to be currently in development for Disney Infinity. http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumo...wars-and-marve http://www.joystiq.com/2014/02/03/re...es-face-layo/? 2) In a weird turn of events, rumors of Ubisoft dropping the Watch Dogs trademark ended up being both debunked and confirmed. What are the odds Infinity totally backfires and Disney resurrects LucasArts?
|
Why would that failing bring back LucasArts? And for what anyway?
|
I think he is talking about what Disney did with Pixar. They should have just made LucasArts the offical Disney game company like they basically did when they bought Pixar. Made the Pixar execs in charge of everything animation.
|
Yeah but... why? LucasArts were not the rock stars they used to be. That's why I didn't care when Disney canned them.
|
Wasn't there news a while back that if Infinity didn't succeed, that future Star Wars games would be cancelled?
Back to vaporware for you, Battlefront 3. |
Think that might have been related to Disney as a whole and not tied to anything specific.
Disney went all in with Infinity to the point they were expecting it to immediately match or be better than the Skylander series and generates tons of cash to fund everything else. So far its already sold 3 million starter packs and literally turned around their entire gaming division to become profitable but Disney wanted a lot more. http://www.polygon.com/2014/1/17/532...-million-units |
I had never even heard of it until I walked by a display in Gamestop the other day, and it was right next to Skylanders which was doing the same thing but looked better doing it.

I got Infinity for my son. It's like skylanders for a slightly younger target audience with the tox box mode from the last few toy story games added on top. It's good for small children/families, but that is about it.
|

LONDON — Convicted mass killer Anders Behring Breivik, the right-wing extremist who methodically hunted down and shot dozens of young people at a summer camp in Norway, has threatened to mount a hunger strike if his prison conditions don’t improve, including better video games.
Breivik, 35, sent a letter to media outlets saying he would starve himself to death if his demands weren’t met, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Among those demands is access to a sofa and a bigger gym. Agence France-Presse said that, in a letter it received last week, Breivik described the present conditions of his confinement as “torture.” He enclosed a list of 12 demands he had sent to prison authorities in November, including easier communication with the outside world and a PlayStation 3 to replace the current PlayStation 2, because it offers more suitable games. “Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids’ games. One example is ‘Rayman Revolution,’ a game aimed at 3-year-olds,” Breivik complained to prison officials. “You’ve put me in hell ... and I won’t manage to survive that long,” he added. “You are killing me.” |
PS2 has the best library that generation, the dumb fuck.

This isn't the first we've heard of it, and I'm a little skeptical about it. Almost every mission in the first game had a unique feel to it. Harder to accomplish in an open world.
Really hope they don't fuck it up. |

Microsoft is going to introduce DirectX 12 tomorrow, hopefully inspired by AMD's Mantle API.

Provided they remember to make good games regardless of the engine.

Seriously though. DX releases are generally something I'm pretty stoked for. Every iteration has at least a couple of pretty amazing improvements. Here's hoping they keep it up and make some good games to show off the new tech.
