IIRC they did a Reverse Battle Royal where the first 8 in the ring then competed in a standard Battle Royal where the order of elimination dictated "seeding" for an 8 man tournament to decide a #1 Contender. If you were eliminated first you were seeded 8th and would face the #1 seed (the winner of the Battle Royal).

The tournament was then won by a guy that wasn't even in the original Reverse/Standard Battle Royal (Christian I think).
