A couple of news regarding the Gears of War prequel called "Gears of War Judgement" with the first being no Kinect controls and the other being a rumored February 2013 release date.
According to the series creator Cliff Bleszinski, the upcoming Gears of War Judgment will not be using Kinect controls unlike the previous Gears of War 3 game.
While he likes the technology and gameplay possibilities the Kinect can provide, he stated it won't fit well with what they are trying to do for the prequel. The decision may have been related to earlier plans for a Kinect-designed Gears of War game being canceled earlier in the year by Epic Games.
Gears of War 3's Kinect controls also could have played a factor since the game wasn't built from the ground up for Kinect and instead added as a quick optional control scheme.

We are not supporting Kinect in Gears Judgment, he said in a recent interview with Games TM. I like Kinect, Ive been a fan of it, but I dont think it has been fully realized as far as the potential of the device. Dance Central 3 looks great and all, but Im curious how the core games will work out.

A rumor from CVG states the game is currently on track for a possible February 2013 release date. No exact date hasn't been finalized yet but most likely be released before the fiscal year ends for both Epic Games and Microsoft who's publishing the game.
