Punk's been on record that his surgery and recovery from his foot injury earlier this year was brutal and the most miserable physical experience of his life. Kinda wonder if immediately getting a major injury in his first match back would be a point where he says "fuck it" as far as in-ring competition is concerned. Maybe he's happy with his final match being winning a world title in Chicago.
If he's content never wrestling again, it wouldn't be a bad idea to just take a Legends deal and get free money from the HOF induction, merch, and video game royalties that would result.
