Jim Croce - "You Don't Mess Around With Jim"
I've been listening to the hits for a few months now so I decided to give his albums a go. Magnificent. I was already a big Harry Chapin fan so I'm very comfortable with folk songs sung by a great storyteller. The parallels between Chapin and Croce are strong, right down to the unexpected death. If there's a great story left to tell, the guy telling it had best avoid trains. Planes and automobiles have had their fill. |
